My Life as an MVP Student

I go to school four days a week, Tuesday - Friday.

My classes meet at different times during the week for longer class periods allowing time for investigation, discussion and exploration.

My teachers facilitate my personal creativity. I am encouraged to explore academically, physically, and artistically.

At MVP I am expected to be the source of my own learning with the teachers as my guide. My teachers learn with me.

No bells ring to tell me when to change classes, no halls to navigate. Instead I walk outside, take in the mountain view and get a breath of fresh air before my next class.

I own my education: leading parent conferences, articulating my educational triumphs and goals.

My thinking is challenged on a daily basis through collaboration with my peers and coursework through pre-AP and AP, and UNM Taos Dual Credit. We all bring something to the table every day.

Since my classes are small, my teachers can listen to my ideas and questions as part of regular classroom conversation.

My learning is not bound by the physical classroom walls. Learning takes place in connection with the greater community.
